The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals.
