SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Stacy, MN.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Stacy are programs which are officially permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get ancillary benefits aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab program can get their basic approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every three years depending on the kind of accreditation that was granted.
