Alcohol and drug abuse facilities for Vets are central for the mental well-being and overall stability of Vets of all branches of the military. Because alcohol and drug abuse and other mental health problems are found at above average rates among Veterans, it is important that they get the essential assistance they need due to such high rates of suicide also associated with these disorders with our Vets.
Drug and alcohol abuse programs for Vets in Tintah are available from the VA, with services that include programs to handle associated problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, pain, disturbed sleep, irritability, and/or relationship problems which most commonly trigger substance abuse disorders among Veterans. Rehabilitation for substance abuse and related problems among Military Veterans includes psychotherapies and group and individual therapy which can increase an individual's desire to change. Involvement in other support such as AA and other support groups is encouraged. Medications can also be available in some instances to help Veterans lessen their drug, alcohol and tobacco use.
Substance abuse programs for Military Vets are offered during the evening and weekend hours, with both outpatient and residential options available. Programs that are Women-Only or Men-Only and those for homeless Vets are available in certain areas.
