At clinics that treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, treatment therapies are limited beyond managing the medication and the main treatment objective is to address the physical symptoms of their dependence. Some centers do provide a small amount of counseling and group therapy as auxiliary services, and it is recommended and encouraged.
