If a person in Drexel needs drug abuse treatment but doesn't have health insurance or the funds to pay for the recovery program in full, the Access to Recovery Voucher is possibly an alternative to consider. ATR is a federally-funded program which makes it possible for individuals to access addiction treatment facilities and services including inpatient programs, regular outpatient, intensive outpatient, continuing care, counseling, life coaching and recovery support, vocational training, skills building, and transportation assistance. The ATR grant program allows those individuals with vouchers to purchase rehabilitation and recovery support services for substance use disorders at the provider of their choice. To qualify for ATR individuals must meet certain requirements, including: 1) must be 18 years or older, 2) have a history of substance use or abuse, 3) have a yearly income that is below 200% of the Federal poverty level, and 4) reside in the counties or jurisdictions that provide ATR.
Individuals interested in the Access to Recovery Voucher can contact ATR Service Coordinators in their area. If someone's original choice of program or rehab center isn't working out, they can work with their coordinator to find one that best fits their needs and that accepts the ATR.
