A requirement that MAT clients must also get auxiliary benefits in addition to medicine like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab center can receive basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab program is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of certification that was given.
