Regular out-patient recovery is usually a less expensive alternative to more intensive outpatient centers or inpatient treatment, and is the least intense of formal substance abuse rehab available in Terry. Some people are in treatment for the first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and commitment to time wise and logistically because of work, school or other obligations. For some, regular outpatient is a downgrade from rehab in a more intense outpatient program like a partial hospitalization or in-patient facility.
Regular outpatient rehabilitation options usually have individual and group counseling services delivered once maybe twice per week. Facilities which offer a more diverse range of services may include psychotherapies (behavioral therapy) to assist with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help address co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues. The length of time someone stays involved in rehab can change from client to client, and a person's progress can be judged from time to time and an extension of treatment can be suggested based on these findings.
In some cases, a regular outpatient rehabilitation program is going to be insufficient in intensity for someone who is attempting to address a severe substance abuse issue and has never experienced rehab before or has relapsed following prior outpatient recovery.
