Regular out-patient treatment is usually a less expensive choice to more intensive outpatient centers or inpatient recovery, and is the least intense of formal substance abuse rehabilitation available in Ledger. Some individuals are in rehab for the first time and have chosen regular outpatient because of the cost and time commitment and scheduling because of work, school or other obligations. In some cases, regular outpatient is a downgrade from rehab in a more intense outpatient program such as a partial hospitalization or inpatient center.
Regular out-patient recovery services involve group and individual counseling services delivered once or twice a week. Facilities that include a more diverse range of services may include psychotherapies (behavioral therapy) to assist with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help address co-occurring addiction and mental health disorders. The length of time an individual remains in rehab can change from client to client, and a client's progress can be assessed from time to time and more treatment can be suggested contingent upon these conclusions.
In many cases, a regular outpatient rehabilitation program may be lacking in intensity for someone who is addressing a chronic drug and alcohol problem and has never experienced recovery before or has relapsed after prior outpatient rehab.
