The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients.
