SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - Archdale, NC.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation facilities in Archdale are programs which are legally permitted to dispense the medicines used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive ancillary services aside from medication like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab center can get their basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment program is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of accreditation that was granted.
