The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people.
