The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people.
