SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Facilities - Clarendon, NC.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation centers in Clarendon are programs that are legally permitted to give out the medications used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary services aside from medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehabilitation facility can receive basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment center is certified, they need to get re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the kind of certification that was given.
