SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs - Cleveland, NC.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment centers in Cleveland are programs which are legally permitted to give out the medications used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary services aside from medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab center can receive basic approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment center is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every three years contingent upon the kind of certification that was granted.
