SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities - Conway, NC.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Conway are programs that are officially permitted to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary services in addition to medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment center can get their initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the type of accreditation that was given.
