SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs - Fallston, NC.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehab programs, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Drug given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Fallston are programs that are officially permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary services aside from medicine such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehabilitation program can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of accreditation that was granted.
