SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - Four Oaks, NC.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Four Oaks are programs that are officially permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT being they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get ancillary services aside from medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehabilitation center can receive initial approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab center is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every three years contingent upon the kind of accreditation it has been given.
