The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients.
