SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers - Henrietta, NC.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation facilities in Henrietta are programs which are officially permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary benefits aside from medication like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment program can receive initial approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of certification it has been given.
