The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
