SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers - Naples, NC.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Naples are programs that are legally permitted to distribute the medicines used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get ancillary services aside from medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehabilitation program can receive basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment center is certified, they need to get re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the type of accreditation that was given.
