SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Programs - Pineville, NC.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment facilities in Pineville are programs which are officially allowed to give out the medicines used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary benefits in addition to medicine like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation facility can get their basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the type of certification it has been granted.
