The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
