The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients.
