The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients.
