SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs - West End, NC.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehab programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in West End are programs that are legally permitted to dispense the medications used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary services in addition to medicine like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment center can receive basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every three years depending on the kind of accreditation it has been given.
