SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities - Willard, NC.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab centers in Willard are programs who are legally permitted to give out the medicines used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary benefits aside from medication like counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment program can receive initial approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab facility is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every three years depending on the kind of accreditation that was granted.
