Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient drug and alcohol addiction treatment program which is just below intensive outpatient and more intensive than regular out-patient rehab. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help people who may need intensive rehabilitation for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't need 24 hour supervision and care. For someone who has completed inpatient treatment, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in Allen could help them transition more easily into a sober way of life as a "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then phase over to regular outpatient care.
When a client is in a partial hospitalization day treatment center, they typically take part in services anywhere from 3-5 days a week. It is similar to an inpatient program in many important ways, including the fact that clients will have access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can deal with the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to overcome. For at least 4-6 hours on the days that people attend partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will get one-on-one addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, receive any needed medical care and address any of the mental health problems that are triggering their drug and alcohol addiction.
