Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health benefits for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for drug and alcohol withdrawal and those used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
