Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health benefits for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals that do have Medicare and need substance abuse treatment in Las Vegas, this program can pay for certain rehab programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient addiction rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the person's lifetime.

People who have Part C can have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
