DWI Clients - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities - Ontario, NY.

DWI clients in treatment need to complete specific requirements to fulfill the conditions of their court sentencing. Treatment programs which help satisfy these demands and terms, which are typically much more lenient than regular sentencing which would include steep fines and incarceration, are available in Ontario to provide alcohol education, therapy, and additional evaluation for clients with serious alcohol or drug issues.

Drug and Alcohol Education is a primary treatment tool used at rehabs treating DWI offenders. There are a few different levels of alcohol education classes which can vary by state. Level I education normally include 12 hours of education related to the effects of alcohol and drugs. This is the what someone with a first conviction or someone under 21 will often be required to do. Level II courses would include both education and therapy at a program which is approved by the courts. How long a client will have to remain in therapy depends on various considerations, which can include the number of DWI's the person has had, and the seriousness of the violation. Most often individuals will be required to take the Level II classes and therapy except for when their blood-alcohol level was extremely low when they were arrested and there weren't any other significant infractions when the person was arrested.
