The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
