The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients.
