The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency.
