DWI clients in treatment need specific requirements met to satisfy the conditions of their court sentencing. Rehab programs which help satisfy these requirements and conditions, which are usually far more lenient than normal sentencing such as large fines and incarceration, are offered in Rufe to deliver educational services, counseling, and further evaluation for individuals with heavy substance abuse problems.
Drug and Alcohol Education is a fundamental tool used at rehab programs catering to DWI offenders. There are various levels of alcohol education and this can differ by state. Level I education usually include 12 hours of education related to the effects of drugs and/or alcohol. This is the what someone with a single offense or someone under 21 will usually be required to do. Level II classes would include both substance abuse education and group therapy in a court approved program. The duration the client will need to remain in therapy depends upon certain considerations, which can be, for example, how many DWI's the offender has had, and the severity of the violation. In most cases, individuals will be required to take the Level II classes and therapy unless their blood-alcohol content level was very low when they were arrested and there were no other significant charges when the individual was arrested.
