It is estimated that around 75% of clients at residential rehab centers for drug and alcohol addiction are smokers. While it is true that nicotine is addicting and clients in any sort of treatment for addiction should strive to be free from all addictive substances, this can present problems that make enforcing a non-smoking facility outweigh the benefits of this restriction.
