SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Centers - Phoenix, OR.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to advance the mental health of the nation. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications administered are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation facilities in Phoenix are programs which are officially allowed to distribute the medicines used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary services in addition to medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab facility can get their basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, they need to get re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the type of certification that was granted.
