It is estimated that around 75% of clients at residential treatment programs for drug and alcohol addiction are smokers. While it is true that nicotine is addicting and people in rehab for addiction should strive to be abstinent from all addictive substances, this can introduce problems that make enforcing a non-smoking facility outweigh the advantages of such restrictions.
