The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals.
