Alcohol and drug abuse programs for Military Veterans are essential for the mental well-being and overall stability of Veterans of all branches of the military. Because drug and alcohol abuse and other mental health disorders are experienced at higher than average rates among Vets, it is important that Veterans get the essential help they need due to such high suicide rates also associated with these disorders among our Vets.
Substance abuse facilities for Vets in Blue Ridge Summit are available from the VA, with included services such as programs to handle associated problems such as relationship problems, irritability, disturbed sleep, pain, depression, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which most commonly trigger addiction disorders among Veterans. Rehab for substance abuse and related disorders among Military Vets includes individual and group therapy and psychotherapies which can increase an individual's desire to change. Involvement in other support such as AA and other support groups is encouraged. Medications can also be used in some circumstances to help Military Vets decrease their drug, alcohol and tobacco use.
Substance abuse facilities for Veterans are offered during the weekend and evening hours, with both residential and outpatient programs available. Facilities that are gender-specific and those for homeless Vets are available in certain areas.
