Regular out-patient rehab is usually a less expensive alternative to more intensive outpatient centers or inpatient rehabilitation, and is the least intense of formal alcohol or drug rehabilitation available in Brave. Some clients are attending treatment for the first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and commitment to time wise and scheduling because of work, school or other obligations. For some, regular outpatient is a downgrade from treatment in a more intense outpatient facility like a partial hospitalization or in-patient facility.
Regular outpatient treatment services involve individual and group counseling services delivered once maybe twice per week. Facilities that include a more diverse range of services may include psychotherapies (CBT) to help with relapse prevention and dual-diagnosis services to help address co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. The length of time an individual stays involved in treatment can vary, and a person's progress can be judged from time to time and an extension of treatment can be suggested based on these conclusions.
In some cases, a regular outpatient rehabilitation program is going to be lacking in intensity for a person who is addressing a bad substance abuse problem and has not gone to rehab previously or has fallen off the wagon after prior outpatient rehabilitation.
