SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs - Eau Claire, PA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Eau Claire are programs that are officially permitted to give out the medications used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get auxiliary benefits aside from medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab program can receive basic approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation facility is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every three years depending on the type of certification it has been given.
