Alcohol and drug abuse programs for Military Vets are essential for the mental health and overall stability of Veterans of all branches of the military. Because drug and alcohol abuse and other mental health problems are found at above average rates among Veterans, it is important that Veterans get the essential assistance they need due to such high suicide rates also associated with these disorders among our Vets.
Drug and alcohol abuse facilities for Veterans in Lancaster are available through the VA, with services that include efforts to handle associated disorders such as relationship problems, irritability, disturbed sleep, pain, depression, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which most commonly trigger substance abuse disorders among Veterans. Rehabilitation for substance abuse and associated disorders among Veterans includes individual and group therapy and psychotherapies which can increase a person's desire to change. Involvement in other support such as AA and other support groups is encouraged. Medications can also be available in some circumstances to help Military Veterans lessen their drug, alcohol and tobacco use.
