Because substance abuse and other mental health problems are experienced at above average rates among Vets, it is important that Veterans get the essential help they need because of such high rates of suicide also associated with these disorders among Veterans.
Drug and alcohol abuse facilities for Veterans in Lebanon are available through the VA, with services that include efforts to address associated disorders such as relationship problems, irritability, disturbed sleep, pain, depression, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which most commonly trigger addiction disorders among Veterans. Treatment for substance abuse and associated problems among Military Vets includes psychotherapies and group and individual therapy that can increase an individual's motivation to change. Involvement in other support such as AA and other support groups is encouraged. Medications can also be used in some instances to help Vets decrease their tobacco, alcohol, and drug use.
