Alcohol and drug abuse facilities for Military Veterans are central for the mental health and overall stability of Vets of all branches of the military. Because alcohol and drug abuse and other mental health problems are found at above average rates among Vets, it is important that Veterans get the assistance they need due to such high rates of suicide also associated with these disorders with our Vets.
Alcohol and drug abuse programs for Veterans in Mars are available from the VA, with services that include efforts to handle associated problems such as relationship problems, irritability, disturbed sleep, pain, depression, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which most commonly trigger addiction disorders among Veterans. Rehab for addiction and associated disorders among Veterans includes individual and group therapy and psychotherapies which can increase a person's desire to change. Involvement in outside support such as AA and other support groups is encouraged. Medications can also be available in some circumstances to help Military Vets decrease their tobacco, alcohol, and drug use.
Drug and alcohol abuse facilities for Vets are offered during the evening and weekend hours, with both residential and outpatient programs available. Programs that are gender-specific and those for homeless Veterans are available in certain areas.
