SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs - Revloc, PA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medications prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment centers in Revloc are programs which are legally allowed to distribute the drugs used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary services aside from medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment center can get their basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, however, are required to get their full accreditation in a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab facility is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified each year or every three years depending on the kind of accreditation that was granted.
