Regular outpatient rehab is mostly a less costly alternative to more comprehensive outpatient centers or inpatient recovery, and is the least intense of formal alcohol or drug rehabilitation available in Wyoming. Some clients are attending rehab for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and commitment to time wise and logistically because of school, work or other obligations. For some, regular outpatient is a downgrade from rehab in a more intense outpatient center like a partial hospitalization or in-patient program.
Regular outpatient treatment services usually offer group and individual counseling services delivered once maybe twice per week. Facilities which include a wider spectrum of services may include counseling (CBT) to help with relapse prevention and dual-diagnosis services to help address co-occurring addiction and mental health issues. How long a person stays in treatment can vary, and a person's improvement can be judged every now and then and more treatment can be suggested contingent upon these evaluations.
In many situations, a regular outpatient recovery program may be insufficient in intensity for an individual who is dealing with a bad drug and alcohol issue and has never experienced rehab previously or has fallen off the wagon following previous outpatient recovery.
