Opioid rehabilitation programs authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every three years depending on the type of certification that was granted.
