The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of certification that was granted.
