Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health benefits for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals who do have Medicare and require substance abuse rehabilitation in Barnwell, this program will pay for certain treatment programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain types of care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient substance treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for 190 days of inpatient care total, this applies to the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient drug and alcohol rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and medications administered by clinics. It also covers professional intervention services.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for individuals who want additional coverage aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
